I discovered that this blog has readers in Kuala Lumpur. Hence I cannot do anything but celebrate with a classic:

For the sake of statistics i see which things I've seen in disguise - feel free to share your experience if you have one:

Cheese in disguise: at least 15 - I'm not a chemist but i can suppose that in 3 cases it was italian "ricotta", in 5 German "quark".

Russians in disguise: 162 - 36 of them disguised as Germans, 23 as Engineers, 22 as medic, 21 as Italians, 40 as Americans (check the video).
Pigmeans in disguise: at least 100
Stalin in disguise: 27.
Poets in disguise: 3.5 (?)

I approve and support this campain.

The point on which I disagree is the kind of email that someone built around it, the text is the more or less the following (i received it in Italian, but it seems to come from Spain):
"Hello ... please give me just 2 Minutes ....
We must stop them! All This must finish, please do not remain indifferent as
If you had not seen anything.
In conscience, can we really allow all this to go on without doing anything?
To try to prevent this monstrosity to happen again, we are collecting a minimum of 500 signatures (but if we will be more it would be Better)
The movie is really hard. They are skinned alive...

There are several things to point:

1- PETA is promoting the diffusion of this video (it is available on PetaTV) and fighting for this to end... they know the matter, and it sounds ridiculous that they would do more when they receive a mail with 500 names on it. Why should they wait it?
2- Even if such collection of random names would be forwarded by PETA to others (e.g. local authorities) what legal value could it have? I can produce an email with 500 fake names asking whatever i want..
3- Chains Suck! everything spread like a chain is prone to loss of credibility, if you trust in an idea avoid it to seem bullshit.
4- putting a signature on that mail is a sort of chatartic ritual that makes our consciences feel lighter without doing anything really meaningful. Respecting animals is not a matter of offending Chinese people (OK, they kill dogs but what about western people who buy fur products from them?) or forwarding e-mails: we should think about avoiding fur and everything that is produced in that way...

So if you think (like me) that animals should receive the respect due to alive creatures don't forward that mail but just the link to the video (there is also the way to do it from the site linked) or add the link on your webpage.

It is common to write song lyrics on blogs. It is a way to steal the a loved artist poetry and use it to share feelings to with the readers(1). I think this song should be suitable to express how I feel.
